In Loving Memory of Julian Isvik

August 1, 1930 - October 8, 2009

Julian Ludwig Hansen Isvik, born in Straumen, Norway, passed away peacefully in Nanaimo, B.C. on Oct. 8, 2009. He joined the Merchant Marines in Norway at the young age of 13 and traveled the world until settling in Denmark and then finally finding his way to Canada in 1957. He spent many years working in the Clearwater valley where he enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing with good friends and family in his spare time. He worked for several years in Tofino where he loved to spend time pursuing the big “Smiley’s” and exploring the back roads. After a brief return to Clearwater, Julian and Noreen returned to Vancouver Island to spend their final “Golden Years” in Nanaimo where they enjoyed exploring their love of nature in the many beautiful parks and spending time and having fun with family.

Julian was predeceased by his wife Bertha (Noreen) Isvik, parents Janny and Ludwig Isvik, siblings Karl and Petter Isvik and daughter Joanne.

He will be sadly missed by his daughters Marilynn (Dan), Julie (Craig), and Melody (Gary); his sons Bob (Ann) and Randy (Shirley), as well as his many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will also be lovingly remembered by many close family friends.

A celebration of Julian’s life will follow in the Spring and notice will follow.
