Joyce Butler passed away peacefully July 29 at the Al Hogg Pavilion extended care home of the Peace Arch Hospital in White Rock, BC. She is survived by her grandchildren: Samantha (Dwayne) Braaten of Clearwater, BC; Toni (Kyle) Harfield of Kelowna, BC; great grandchildren, Damian, Sophia and Taylor; sister-in-law Helen Weaver of Surrey, BC. She was predeceased by her daughter Marilyn Harfield, her brothers Harvey and Howard Weaver and sister Sheila Telfer.
Joyce grew up on her parents' farm in Delta, BC and after high school, trained at the Royal Columbian Hospital to become a registered nurse. Since retiring in 1976, she lived in White Rock but frequently visited her family in Clearwater, BC. She was a gifted crocheter, seamstress and knitter. Known by many as "Nan". She cherished her family and friends. She will be greatly missed.
Memorial service will be held August 13, 2010 at 2 pm at the Victory Memorial Funeral Centre, 14831- 28th Avenue, Surrey, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society gratefully appreciated. Messages to www.victoryfuneralcentre.ca.
