James Henry James born Prince Rupert, B.C. July 1944- died Kelowna, B.C. August 2023
Harry James passed away August 18, at the age of 79 and is survived by his wife of nearly 55 years Joyce and his children Kara née Brenda (Matthew Elton), Debra (Weston Yoshimura), Brian (Louise), Cory (Nicole).
He is also survived by his grandchildren Gareth, Taryn, Jack, MacKenzie, Sophie, Alexander as well as Connor O. and Ethan R. and his nieces, nephews, cousins and enough friends to fill a village.
He is predeceased by his parents Jim and Fran as well as his siblings Barb and Steve. Harry was a C.E.T and worked as a metering specialist for many years with Peace Pipe Line/ Pembina and eventually retiring from Gibsons Energy.
He was given the lifetime achievement award from the International School of Hydrocarbon Measurement in '08 and served as its Chairman in '09. After a career in Calgary in oil and gas he and Joyce retired to Clearwater BC where he kept busy making new friends on and off the golf course, volunteering with both the Clearwater and District Food Bank and Royal Canadian Legion as well as generally helping out anyone who needed a hand with nearly anything.
When that wasn't enough to keep him busy he went back to work contracting with iMEC. Harry remained an active member of the Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving as the Clearwater Branch President.
Everyone who considers themselves a member of his village is invited to attend a service in his honor to be held September 16, 2023 at 1pm at the Royal Canadian Legion branch #259 257 Glenn Rd in Clearwater B.C. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to your local food bank or first responder charities and make sure to always let other people know you appreciate them.
