IN LOVING MEMORY OF

JOHN LESLIE ALBERT PATTERSON

February 5, 1948 — April 13, 2004

It is with great sadness that the family of John (Jack) Patterson announces his peaceful passing on April 13, 2004 at the age of 56.

He is survived by his loving family: wife Nora, sons Darin Patterson of Okanagan Falls, B.C. and Devin (Julie) Patterson of Kamloops, B.C., daughter-in-law Tracy Patterson of Kamloops, B.C. and grandchildren Travis, Kayla, Kierra, Kurtis, Allison and Jessica, his mother Irene (stepfather Albert) Bradford of Barriere, sister Marjorie Patterson of Barriere, brother Tim (Helen) Patterson of Vernon, B.C. as well as many more relatives and friends.

He worked at sawmills in Barriere until beginning a long career with the Barriere Ambulance Society. He became the First Unit Chief when the B.C. Ambulance Service took over the Community Service. He served as Unit Chief at Barriere from 1975 until moving to the Clearwater Station in 1979. He continued in that capacity until 1993 when he went on long term disability.

Jack was a complete sports enthusiast. He loved and coached hockey and softball. He played softball all throughout the Valley. He also loved fishing, camping and just spending time with his friends.

He was a member of Clearwater Christian Church. His faith brought peace and solace to him.

His favorite NHL team, the Philadelphia Flyers, sent him a personalized get well card. It was a very special tribute.

Jack was always interested in community life and service. He served as a member of the Clearwater Improvement Board of Trustees for 12 years. He will greatly missed. A celebration of Jack’s life was held on April 16, 2004 at 1 p.m. in the Clearwater Free Evangelical Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made, in Jack’s name, to the Canadian Cancer Society, 685 Victoria Street, Kamloops, and B.C. V2C 2B3.
