Ian James Cumming passed away March 13, 2003 after a long bout with cancer.
Born April 4, 1939, in Edinburgh, Scotland, he immigrated to Canada in 1987, marrying Jean Anderson. For 15 years he lived in a place he loved, near Wells Gray Park, and for most of those years he was employed as a chef, which he loved to do.
He will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Jean Cumming of Clearwater, and his daughter Sarah, grandsons Jordan and Zak and granddaughter Lois, all living in Scotland.
Ian was cremated after death. Jean knows his spirit is at rest. She heartfully thanks the excellent staff at Dr. Helmcken Memorial Hospital and Ian’s physician, Dr. Chris Sladden, for the exceptional help they gave to making Ian’s journey as comfortable as they could. God bless their souls.
In lieu of flowers, Jean would appreciate donations to the Cancer Society and/or Dr. Helmcken Memorial Hospital.
A celebration of his life will be on April 26 at Helmcken Falls Lodge from 12 noon to 6 p.m.
