Helen Edith

GRAFFUNDER

1937 - 2008

In loving memory of our precious wife, mom, grandma, sister, mother-in-law, auntie and great friend.

Helen was born February 8, 1937 to Carl and May Hansen in Princeton, BC. She was the youngest of 2 children with a big brother Alan. She met Ernie while working as a cook in Vavenby, BC, at the CTP cookhouse. Ernie ending up being the love of her life.

They married in 1953, and lived a wonderful life together in Vavenby. They had 4 precious children, 3 sons and a daughter.

Helen spent most of her life making a happy and comfortable home for her family. She was well known for her wonderful baking and apple pies. She welcomed people openly into her home and treasured the time with her family and friends.

She was blessed to be close to all of her beautiful grandchildren. She spent a lot of quality time with them and loved to spoil them.

Helen left behind Ernie, her husband of 55 years; oldest son Doug (Janice) grandchildren Kelly and Nicole; son Wally (Sugar) grandchildren Bob and Bonnie; son Hugh (Shelley) grandchildren Cory and Candice; daughter Sandra (Ed) grandchildren Rod, Spencer and Marshall; she had 10 grandchildren and many precious great-grandchildren as well as a multitude of friends.

Helen was predeceased by both of her loving parents and her step father and sadly her oldest grandson Keith.

Helen passed away Friday July 11, 2008 at Dr. Helmcken Memorial Hospital in Clearwater, BC, after a lengthy fight with her health. The angels came and took her in their arms to a better place where she will be free of all pain and suffering.
