Heather Anne was born in Wrinch Memorial Hospital, Hazelton BC, on January 14, 1956 to parents Barbara McGowan and William McGowan. She passed away on May 11, 2016 in Dr. Helmcken Memorial Hospital, Clearwater, BC. She is survived by her partner, Jack Vogels. Heather will be missed by her kids, Alison Evans, Aaron Hunt, Mary Hunt, Jessica Couturier, her eight grandchildren with another on the way, as well as Heather’s siblings Bill McGowan, Catherine McGowan and Margaret Olmstead. She was predeceased by her husband Felix Couturier in 2013, and by her brother Michael McGowan.

Heather loved crafting, gardening, dancing to 'Mustang Sally', taking care of her family and anyone else she could find to mother. In recent years her "hotel" family was such an important part of her life and support group. She loved to get in the car and go for a road trip, just for fun or usually to go help someone she loved.

It would be hard to count or narrow down all the kind and loving things Heather did for others, never asking anything in return but wanting everyone to be safe, secure and happy. She was the luckiest person at Keno that anyone ever met! Or maybe it was skill.....if you watched her play you would know it was skill. And no....we won't tell you her numbers, if you know them you're lucky!

Heather grew up in northern BC (Hazelton, Smithers) with a large family and a love for horses and animals. She was always up for a lively, good, fun time -- smiles and laughter with a glass of wine in hand! A Memorial Service for Heather took place in Clearwater on May 14, 2016.
