In Loving Memory of

Harold William

KLEIN

1935-2009

With great sadness we announce the passing of Harold Klein of Blue River, BC, at Dr. Helmcken Memorial Hospital, Clearwater, BC, on October 4, 2009, after a short bout with kidney cancer. Harold was born on April 26, 1935 in Vancouver, BC. He is survived by his spouse, Hazel Klein of Blue River; children Kathy (Blair) Thompson of Langley, BC, Deborah Hill (Mark) of Vancouver Island, Rick (Heidi) Klein of Vernon, BC, Tanya Desjarlais (Denis) of Clearwater, BC and Linden Klein of Blue River; brother Gordon (Lorna) of Sechelt, BC; Aunt Marj of Madeira Park, BC; grandchildren Jeneice, Chris, Jeremy, Paul, Alexandra, Tamara, Christina, Ashley, Travis and Tyler; great grandchildren Ben and Andrea; numerous nieces and nephews, and many friends. Harold was predeceased by his mother Gladys, father Norman, and brother Michael.

Harold attended school in Vancouver and at Vancouver College. He had a long career in logging and cedar shakes. He loved to fish and hunt, but didn’t care if he got anything. He just enjoyed the trips and seeing as much of BC as he could.

Harold had many friends; it seemed he couldn’t go anywhere without running into someone he knew. He lived in Kleindale on the Sunshine Coast. He also lived in Revelstoke, Golden, Malakwa, Enderby and Blue River.

Following cremation, a gathering to celebrate the life of Harold Klein will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion in Blue River at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 24, 2009. The family would appreciate donations in Harold’s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society, c/o Pauline Gregory, Unit President, Box 2057 RR1, Clearwater, BC, V0E 1N0, or to the Ladies' Auxiliary of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 213, Blue River, BC. Funeral arrangements entrusted to North Thompson Funeral Services, Clearwater, 250-674-3030.
