Gordon Mayer born 11 December 1984, died 23 June 2002 tragically in an accident. Gordon will be forever missed by his loving family and many friends.
He is survived by his parents Roger and Debbie Mayer, and his brother Jeff; his great grandmother Mary Dueck of Kamloops, his grandparents Gerry and Betty Bennewith, of Heffley Creek; and Art and Vina Mayer of Clearwater. He will be remembered by his many aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends.
Gordon graduated from Clearwater Secondary School on June 7, 2002 and was looking forward to all the opportunities ahead in years to come.
He loved spending time with his dogs, “Smoky,” and “Bear.” He loved being outdoors with his mom, dad and brother Jeff. He loved music, hanging out with his friends and watching “The Simpson’s” with Jeff.
The family has set up a bursary fund in memory of Gordon and would appreciate donations to the fund at the Clearwater Credit Union in place of flowers.
A memorial service took place on Thursday, June 27, 2002 at 1 p.m. at Dutch Lake Park in Clearwater where Gordon loved to spend time with his dogs. A reception followed at the Royal Canadian Legion.
