Frederick Stanley “Fred”
September 9, 1947 – November 9, 2009
Fred Auger passed away suddenly in Clearwater, BC on November 9, 2009 at 62 years of age. Born in Thunder Bay, ON, Fred called the North Thompson Valley his home for over 30 years. Many people will mourn Fred’s passing, including his sisters Bettylou Dampier (and Mitzy) of Clearwater, and Paulette (Harold) Carr of Pays Plat, ON; cousins Ida Wanakamik of Pays Plat and Raymond (Gayle) Wilson of Clearwater; nieces Cecile (Rob) Madigan, Elaine Dampier of Fort McMurray, AB, Joyce Dampier (John M) of Clearwater, Eileen Wichman (John Q) of Clearwater, Denise (Oscar) McWatch of Mobert, ON, Tamara (Jason) Tavner of Peterborough, ON, Paul (Val) Auger of Pays Plat, Daniel (Roxanne) Auger of Chase, BC, plus numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Fred was predeceased by his father, Fred Auger of Pays Plat, ON in 1963, his mother Kathleen Esquib of Nipigon in 1995, and by his brothers, Roland Auger of Nipigon, ON in 1980 and Thomas Auger of Vancouver, BC in 1997.
A proud graduate of Grant McEwan College in High Prairie, AB, with a diploma in Social Work, Fred spent many years at Camp 2 in Clearwater, BC. He is a member of the Pays Plat First Nation in Ontario. He enjoyed watching all sports, playing bingo, and sitting at the shopping centre visiting friends. Fred will be greatly missed by Shadow, his four-legged partner in crime.
A funeral service for Frederick Auger took place in the chapel at North Thompson Funeral Services on Wednesday, November 18, 2009, with Father Donal O’Reilly officiating. Interment followed at Riverview Cemetery in Clearwater, BC.
