Elizabeth Ruth , Ruby, Pease

Elizabeth Ruth (Ruby) Pease passed from this earth to join the Almighty on July 21, 2002.


Ruby was born in Shrawley, Worcestershire, England, Sept. 14, 1918.


She immigrated to Canada aboard a troop ship at the conclusion of World War 1, taking up residence briefly on the family farm on the shores of Christina Lake, in the Boundary Country.


Shortly after, the family moved to Grand Forks, B.C. where she went to school, then received her higher education at a college in Nelson.


During the war years, she worked in the court house in Grand Forks, later transferring to Kamloops where she met and married her husband, David.


She moved to the mill town of Vavenby, where David was employed, then when he retired, moved to Pender Harbor, in 1994.


Her passing is mourned by, her husband of 38 years, David, at home, daughter Christine, (Mike); their daughters Kandice and Katelynn, of Clearwater, B.C.; daughter Debra, her sons Adam and Peter, of Surrey B.C.; stepson Roy (Joanne) of Quesnel; her brothers Fred (Jean) of Vancouver and Henry (Jock) of Grand Forks, B.C.


Funeral to be held in St. Andrews Church, Madeira Park, on Aug. 17 at 11 a.m., Reverend Janice Young officiating.


Interment will be in Forest View Cemetery on Wonnock Road. A reception will be held in the Lions Hall, 13776 Highway 101.


In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her memory to the Pender Harbor and District Health Center Society, Box 308, Madeira Park, B.C. VON 2HO
