November 30, 1928 - June 6, 2010
Betty passed away at Dr.Helmcken Memorial Hospital, Clearwater, BC after a lengthy illness; she had fought a long and hard battle. Betty will always be remembered by her son Ronald Bitterman (partner Sharman), grandson Joel Bitterman (wife Teri) and her new great grandson, Maximus. She was predeceased by her husband Sam Irvine, parents David and Janet Scott and her grandson Jared Bitterman.
Betty leaves to cherish her memory: nephews Joe Dockrill (Juanita), Brian, Kenny (Cindy) Irvine; her sister-in-law Theo (Elmer) Irvine; and niece Shirley (Gary) Pigeon. She also leaves behind many close and dear friends: Doreen Elliot, Pauline and Al Gregory, Shelley, Fay, Rick and Marie Dee and Diane and Moe Smith.
Betty had spent the last years of her life in Birch Island near the river, watching it change every day. She loved Birch Island and all the people in it. She was very proud and honored to Elizabeth “Betty” be in the Royal Purple for many years.
Betty wanted her passing to be “simplicity itself”. A memorial service was held at the Elk’s hall on Sunday June 13, 2010 at 3:00 pm.
