Barbara Ferguson
Eleanor Barbara Ferguson passed away peacefully on Sept. 14, 2017 at age 89 in Clearwater, with her family at her side.
Barbara was born in Jura, B.C. on Nov. 2, 1927 to Harry and Eleanor (Bentley) Trehearne, and grew up on the family ranch.
She took nurses' training in Kamloops, graduating in 1950. She loved her profession, but put it aside to raise her children, before returning to it in 1972.
She loved hiking in Wells Gray Park, skiing, working in her beautiful garden, and always walking with her little dog, Sophie.
She was an artist, and painted many beautiful pictures over the course of her long life.
She is survived by her devoted husband Ken; daughters Eleanor, Bonnie (Jim), Mona (George), Nancy, and son Gary (Cindy); 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; and Ken's children Trina (Darren), and Marty (Trudy), and their families.
There will be a memorial service at the Clearwater Christian Church on Sunday, Oct. 8 at 2:00 p.m., followed by a reception.
The family would like to thank Dr. Soles and the nurses at the Dr. Helmcken Memorial Hospital for their loving care in her last 4 weeks.
