Edward Harvey Traub


Ed Traub was the sixth child born to George and Vergie Traub on January 10, 1933 in Choiceland, Saskatchewan. He passed away at Dr. Helmcken Memorial Hospital in Clearwater, BC surrounded by loved ones on October 22, 2008 at 75 years of age.


Edward moved to Clearwater in 1951 and stayed. He worked in the mill and the forestry industry until he retired in 1988. On August 24, 1995, Edward married Patricia. He adored his wife of thirteen years; he was so proud to have Patricia at his side.


Ed’s passions were his love of God, his family, music, his guitar, and he also loved to sit and watch a movie or go have a coffee with family or friends. His door was always open, with a smile to greet you.


Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Patricia; five children, Allan (Barb) Traub, Marlene (Mike) Woodman, Debby Carr, Jeanie (Allen) Weatherbee, Shelly (Dennis) Redman; fourteen grandchildren, Jeremy, Jyron (Linda), Cody Traub, Monica, Mickel (Monika), Myrena Woodman, Jennifer Wallin, Angela Humphrey (Joe), Kyle Carr, Charity, Charese, Caleb Weatherbee, Shayla, Cory Redman; seven great grandchildren, Jaden Traub, Paige, Dylan Springer, Jessie, Destiny, Cole Wallin, Joey Ressler; Patricia’s children, Dallas Martin, Seana Martin (Troy) and two grandchildren, Allison, Emery; three sisters, Effie Townsend, Ollie McAuley, Marj Worman; four brothers, Will (Elsie) Traub, Wes (Lorriane) Traub, Alvin (Betty) Traub, Harry (Cindy) Traub; and numerous other family members.


Ed was predeceased by his brother Dune Traub and his parents George and Vergie Traub.


He will always be remembered with love by his family and friends, and will be sadly missed. We know you are now with our Lord and Savior and that one day we will all be together again. On behalf of the family, we wish to express our gratitude to the community for all your kindnesses evidenced in thought and deed.


Following cremation, a celebration of the life of Edward Traub took place on Saturday, November 1, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion in Clearwater, BC. Interment followed at Riverview Cemetery in Clearwater. Funeral arrangements entrusted to North Thompson Funeral Services, Clearwater, BC, 250-674-3030.
