DORIS JOHNSTON
March 28, 1923 – November 14, 2009
Doris passed away peacefully on November 14, 2009 in the house built by her predeceased husband, Alex in Clearwater, B.C. Doris is survived by her three children, Phil (Shirl), Rod (Sharon) and Hester (Dave), six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Doris came to Clearwater in 1943 and spent many years teaching elementary school and later she assisted Dad on the home ranch. She is remembered for her love to her family, her devotion to the church and her kind generosity to others. She loved reading, was an ardent fan of the Toronto Blue Jays and always carefully monitored ranch activities.
A celebration of her life will take place on August 14, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the Clearwater Baptist Church. A reception will follow at the Blackpool Hall. Mom’s cremated remains will be laid to rest next to Dad at the Riverview Cemetery in Clearwater, B.C. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations can be made in Doris’ name to the Canadian Cancer Society, Clearwater Unit, P.O.
