April 17, 1956 - December 4, 2019
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Deb Giles. Deb was born in New Westminster on April 17th 1956 and left this world on December 4th 2019 in Kelowna at the age of 63. Deb is survived by her spouse Greg, children Tug, Jade (Garret), and step children James and Jeff. She will be missed by her granchildren Kiyah, Jayla and Nova. Her parents Jack and Marge Grant, her late sister Sue (Dave), brother Rick, sister Judy (Dave), sister Nancy (Darren) and all her cousins, neices and nephews and the rest of the family.
Deb grew up in New Westminster and Burnaby always surrounded by many friends, had a bubbly personality and zest for life. She played softball, was artistic, worked hard, loved to travel in an old van she bought, loved the outdoors and she was herself a force of nature. as a child, teenager and into adulthood she was always a bit of a rebel or a "bad ass" as you may say, all the way till the end. It was one of the things her family and friends loved about her most.
Deb lived in Clearwater for many years where she raised her children and worked at Slocan and Weyerhaeuser as a log scaler. She loved riding her Harley with the Twisted Sisters and friends, spending time with her grandchildren, family and friends. She was always building something or renovating her home, doing her beautiful artwork and just living life to its fullest. She was the glue that held us all together. She was very compassionate and truly cared about people. She was a free spirit, was never a pushover and would always speak her mind, but deep down had a very sensitive nature at heart. She felt things deeply. May she rest in peace knowing she raised her children well and had a great life filled with love and laughter.
