April 24, 1956 - April 5, 2021
It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our beloved husband, father and brother. Darryl passed away at the age of 64 and is survived by his wife Pearl, his son Marshall (children Amelia, Charlotte) and daughter Rebecca (Daniel). Darryl was predeceased by his father, Archibald Norman, his mother Elsie Margaret (nee Birtwistle), his stepmother Frances Mae (nee Hulton) and his sister June Elizabeth.
Darryl is also survived by his siblings: Ken (Sue), Barbara, Cheryl (Jim), Jean, Cathy, Lea (Mark) & Neil (Carole) and many nieces and nephews, and long-time friend Morris.
He also leaves behind two remaining cousins Heather and Marilyn.
Darryl was born in Goodsoil, Sask. and moved to Chilliwack, BC with his father and siblings when he was a boy. Later, he moved with some of the family to Avola, BC.
When he was younger, Darryl worked for the Canadian National Railway in the Signals Department. He later returned to school to become a Red Seal Journeyman Carpenter.
He worked as a carpenter at Slocan/Canfor in Vavenby for many years while also owning his own carpentry and bobcat business in Clearwater.
Darryl was a person who loved to have fun and be outside. His greatest passions were fishing, carpentry, and gardening. He spent many years changing his beloved farm into his dream. And he loved his family most of all. We will all miss him so very much.
At this time, a small remembrance was held on April 24, 2021 at Darryl and Pearl's beloved farm. A larger gathering will be held later.
Memorial donations in memory of Darryl can be made to: Freshwater Fisheries Society of BC, 40 Old North Thompson Hwy, Clearwater, BC V0E 1N2.
