Darrel Arthur Berglind, aged 79, from Clearwater, British Columbia passed away peacefully with his daughter, Melisa at his side on January 24, 2022 in Swift Current, Saskatchewan. He is survived by Sandra Berglind (ex-wife and best friend), his daughters Melisa and Tasha, granddaughter Taylor Hosler, grandson Ayden Hosler, sister Zelda McMain (Keith), sister-in-law Gloria Berglind (Eldon) and loved nieces and nephews. Dad was predeceased by grandson Devin, parents Vivian and Clarence and his brother Eldon. Darrel was born in New Westminster, BC and raised in Waldeck, SK. In his youth, Dad was kept busy helping his parents at home and janitoring at the local school as well as working at the Buist farm taking care of the dairy cows twice a day. He loved all animals and they had a strong affinity for him. When Dad had some spare time he enjoyed playing hockey with his friends. Mom and Dad moved to BC shortly after getting married and Dad worked in the forestry industry as an industrial electrician. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, traveling, especially to Mexico for the winters and fishing. Darrel will be remembered for being a wonderful, caring and proud father and grandfather and for always being willing to lend a hand to friends and strangers alike. He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him. A graveside service will be held at the Hillside Cemetery at a later date and announcements will be distributed with a date and time. In lieu of flowers, a donation could be made to the Ladies Auxiliary at the Dr. Helmcken Memorial Hospital or to the activity centre at the Yellowhead Pioneer Assisted Living facility in Barriere, BC.
