In Memory of
Carl David
DOHMS
June 5, 1918 - July 8, 2010
Carl Dohms passed away peacefully at Dr. Helmcken Memorial Hospital, Clearwater, BC, surrounded by family and friends. He was 92 years of age and was eagerly waiting to meet his Lord and Savior. Carl was one of 14 children born in Fenwood, Saskatchewan to John and Mathilda Dohms.
Left to mourn Carl's passing is Myrtle, Carl's wife of over 61 years; children Gordon (Melissa), Paul (Lee), Bradley (Luella), Charles (Gerri), all of Vavenby, BC; foster son Gordie Merasty; grandchildren Glen, Rachel, Jesse, Josh, Christy (Adam), Joel, Shekinah, Daniel, Sarah, Caleb, Bonnie and Stephanie; great grandchildren Emma and Seth; sisters Lena, Mary, Edith and Alice; brother Elmer; numerous nieces, nephews and countless friends. Sadly, Carl was pre-deceased by his and Myrtle's first-born child, Howard, who passed away as a newborn, and by their foster son, Larry Merasty.
Carl was a Godly, hard-working man. He loved and was loved by his family and friends. He was a farmer at heart, but he enjoyed many things in life. His greatest gift was his mind; he loved to read and he was an excellent teacher. Carl had great fun with words and he had a terrific sense of humour. He also gave generously, especially to missions.
A Memorial Service for Carl Dohms was held at Vavenby Community Hall at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 18, 2010. Arrangements entrusted to North Thompson Funeral Services, Clearwater, telephone 250-674-3030
