Barbara Mackenzie passed away suddenly on Jan. 16, 2008 at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary, Alberta at the age of 63. Barbara was surrounded by her children at the time of her passing. Barbara was born Feb. 22, 1944 in Edmonton, Alberta. She lived in many places throughout her childhood. In 1960 she married and moved to Clearwater where she raised her family. In 1992 she moved to Saskatchewan and in 2003 she moved to Dewinton, Alberta where she was residing at the time of her passing. Barbara was a devoted mother and grandmother, her children and grandchildren meant the world to her. Even though she didn't live in Clearwater, she always considered Clearwater to be her home. Barbara will be lovingly remembered by her children and grandchildren: Roxanne, (Jason) Alyssa Evashenko of Kenaston, Saskatchewan; William, (Patti) Taylor Mackenzie of Olds Alberta; Pamela, (Marvin) Karlene and Donald Ritchie of Vavenby, B.C.; Kathleen Mackenzie, (Syd) Rebecca and Mackenzie Tooley of Dewinton, Alberta. Barbara is also survived by her father Douglas Reich of Parksville, B.C.; her sister Carol (Franz) Schwartz of Prince George, B.C.; her brother Chris, (Catherine) Reich of Nanaimo B.C. and many nieces and nephews. Barbara was predeceased by her mother Gladys Damato, stepfather Anthony Damato, her grandfather Wes Dibblee and her grandmother Blanche Kimple.
Cremation took place in Calgary, Alberta. The family will have a celebration of Barbara's life at a later date.
