wAnitaFreeston

It is with sadness that we inform the community of Clearwater of Anita’s passing on August 20, 2016 at Royal Inland Hospital, Kamloops, BC. After suffering with many medical issues, Anita passed away at the age of 77 in the presence of her husband Robert to whom she was married for 58 years. Her three sons Dennis, Marc and Eric and their spouses were at her bedside.

Anita was born in Valleyfield, Quebec on November 25, 1938 and moved to the North Thompson Valley in 1969. With the exception of one year, Anita spent nearly her whole life in the valley. Her passing will be deeply felt by those who knew her, especially at the Clearwater Legion, where with her husband she was a founding and active member. Anita lived a full life, filled with world travel, a faithful husband and many grandchildren. Anita was also a founding member of the Women’s Institute who were fundamentally involved with the establishment of Dr. Helmcken Memorial Hospital back in the early 70’s.

Anita loved life, her family and her community.

The Clearwater Legion will be graciously hosting a Celebration of Life on Saturday, Aug. 27, 2016 at 1 pm. In lieu of flowers please make a donation in Anita’s name to Dr. Helmcken Memorial Hospital, the Royal Inland Hospital or the Canadian Diabetes Association. She would have liked that.

Anita is also survived by her sister and former resident Dora Fluery of Montreal, Quebec and her brother Arthur Breton of New Brunswick.

Dormez bien ma mère, nous aimons vous et au revoir jusqu'à ce que nous nous reverrons.
