Andrew Charles “Andy” Erickson
1927 - 2008
Andy was here for 20 years short of a century. He spent his first 30 years searching for greener pastures and Benjie’s blonde daughter, the next 30 years knuckling down nurturing the pastures that he found, and the last 20 years enjoying the pastures that he had made.
Andy was born in Arvilla, Alberta on November 3rd, 1927. In 1959 he married Donna McNeil. Their first son, Wes, arrived in 1961, followed by Gord in 1964, and at last, their lovely daughter, Lee.
After 50 years of searching, Andy and his family arrived in Clearwater, B.C. in 1977. Working as a road builder, and on his ranch, Andy had finally found his home. Andy loved his family, farm, tractor, as well as his horse and his dogs.
Andy passed away at Dr. Helmcken Memorial Hospital, Clearwater, B.C. on May 31, 2008 after a lengthy illness. He is, and will be, dearly missed. Andy is survived by his loving family: wife Donna Erickson; children Wes (Aimee), Gord (Melanie) and Lee (Don); daughter-in-law Sheryl; grandchildren Dustin and Jena, Drake and Drew, Lydia and Stella; and his brother, Al Erickson.
A service to celebrate the life of Andrew Erickson was held on Wednesday, June 4, 2008 in the banquet room at the Wells Gray Inn, Clearwater, B.C. Memorial Contributions in the name of Andy Erickson to Dr. Helmcken Memorial Hospital, Clearwater, B.C. would be appreciated.
