Worthwhile Rotary projects are ongoing

Thousands of residents of Japan are squeezed into evacuation centres as their country continues to deal with this terrible tragedy with after-shocks and nuclear disasters changing the situation every day.

Clearwater Rotary requests your help in providing ShelterBox kits as you did after the earthquake in Haiti. Each box will give a family, up to 10 people, a place of their own. Inside the tent, they can have a degree of independence and be self-sustaining. Each kit, fully loaded with useful supplies, costs $1,000 delivered to the place of need. All money collected goes towards the boxes; there are no administration costs involved.

Clearwater so generously funded eight of these for Haiti. Can we do the same for Japan? Tax-deductible receipts can be provided for donations.

“Piggy banks” have been placed in a number of businesses around town, and Interior Savings Credit Union is ready and waiting for you to drop by, leave your donation and mailing information if you would like a receipt. Many thanks to the generous citizens who have already given from the heart.

Upcoming Rotary Events
