A head-on crash 18 km north of Blue River on Friday, Jan. 23, took the life of a Vernon man.
The incident occurred happened around 4 p.m. and blocked Highway 5 for some time.
The man was driving a pick-up truck at the time and collided head-on with a tractor-trailer.
The pick-up's driver died at the scene. However, two other men who were riding in the pick-up were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The tractor-trailer's driver suffered minor injuries.
There was heavy snow and slushy conditions at the time of the crash, according to police. However, the cause is still under investigation.
