TNRD brings high speed Internet to Blue River

he TNRD and OnCall agreed to collocate broadband equipment at the Blue River Library. The service went live on Oct. 15

Thompson-Nicola Regional District and OnCall Wireless - a subsidiary of Navigata Communications - formally announced last Tuesday the launch of high speed Internet in the community of Blue River. The TNRD and OnCall reached an agreement to collocate broadband equipment at the Blue River Library site. The service went live on Saturday, Oct. 15.

“I am very excited about the work that OnCall Wireless, and their parent company Navigata Communications, has done to improve broadband access in Blue River, “ said Max Lentz, Electoral Area B (Thompson Headwaters) director. “Over the past year the TNRD has worked closely with Navigata to get where we are today - providing a high quality Internet system with very high speeds. The new system has been tested with great success and will be up and running in the next couple of weeks for all residents and businesses.”

This network upgrade will provide residents and businesses in Blue River and the surrounding area with five times faster Internet speeds and improved network reliability.

Existing OnCall subscribers will enjoy improved Internet connections as soon as their equipment is upgraded. New subscribers can sign up for monthly Internet access.

“We are proud to have worked with many partners in the Blue River community, including the TNRD,” said John Warta, chairman of Navigata.
