Teachers (l-r) Julie Boyes, Marilyn Blouin, Loree Holmes and Kevin Bamsey carry signs outside Raft River Elementary School on Friday.

As part of a government-imposed lockout, teachers are required to leave the school grounds every recess and lunch. Since they are not allowed to work then, and they cannot access the school district email from home, their pay is cut 10 per cent.

Teachers in School District 73 staged a one-day strike on Thursday as part of rotating province-wide job action.
