Youngsters try out Clearwater's new splash park after the water gets turned on for the first time on Monday afternoon, June 27.

"It's amazing. I'm so grateful it's here," said Debbie Mayer, one of the organizers.

Hours for the new facility, which is located in Weyerhaeuser Park behind Buy-Low, are 10 a.m. to dusk for the summer.

The water goes through a six minute cycle - 12 different combinations of water features running for 30 seconds each. After six minutes the kids have to push the activation pad at either end of the splash park again.

An official grand opening for the new facility will be held Sunday, July 10 at 12 noon.
