Snowfall warning in place for Clearwater, Barriere

Environment Canada issued the warning Saturday, Feb. 18

A snowfall warning is in effect for the North Thompson region, with total amounts of 10 to 15 cm expected Saturday evening (Feb 18) to Sunday afternoon.

The warning includes Mcgregor, North Thompson, northern sections of the 100 Mile region, communities near the Cariboo Mountains over the southern Cariboo, and Highway 97 – Clinton to 100 Mile House.

Residents should expect rapidly accumulating snow with reduced visibilities. Snow will change to rain Sunday afternoon as the freezing level increases.

Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Rapidly accumulating snow will make travel difficult. Public Safety Canada encourages everyone to make an emergency plan and get an emergency kit with drinking water, food, medicine, a first-aid kit and a flashlight.
