Photo taken on Feb. 19, 2010 shows almost no snow on the Flats in Clearwater as well as on the ski hill. This was the same time as the Winter Olympics were being held in Vancouver and officials were scrambling to get enough snow.

Local resident Dean Redman has several photos taken almost exactly seven years ago that show nearly no snow in Clearwater.

“I thought to myself that I’m not going to see this again in my lifetime, so I went around town taking photos,” he said.

This contrasts with about four feet of snow this year - much of it having fallen within the past few weeks.

The Winter Olympics were held in Vancouver from Feb. 12 to 28, 2010 and officials needed to truck in snow because there was not enough on the courses for some event.
