Drawing from MOTI shows an early draft of the layout for the roundabout proposed for the junction of Highway 5 and the road to Wells Gray Park.

Will there be a public meeting to discuss the roundabout on Jan. 14 or will it be on Jan. 16?

The answer is none of the above.

The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure is re-scheduling the meeting, according to project manager Dave Shibata. He gave no date for when it would take place.

A poster appeared in Clearwater Post Office during the holiday season stating that there would be an open house and information session about the roundabout proposed for the intersection of Highway 5 and the road to Wells Gray Park on Jan. 14.

A news article to that effect appears on page 3 of the Jan. 3 issue of the Clearwater Times.

Just to add to the confusion, an item in District of Clearwater's What's Happening column just below the news article states the meeting will be on Jan. 16.

An email to Shibata from the Times got the response that neither date is correct, and that the meeting has been re-scheduled. He gave no reason for the change.

The proposed roundabout has become a major topic of discussion and controversy within the community.
