On Monday, Dec, 19, Clearwater RCMP received information about a missing snowmobiler.
The sledder was said to be missing for about two hours from the Groundhog West riding area at Finn Creek near Avola.
Provincial Emergency Program [PEP] and local Search and Rescue [SAR] were contacted by police. The rider’s cellphone was pinged and he was located uninjured in Valemount.
Police have busy week
From Dec. 18 to Dec. 24, local police also investigated numerous other files (a few of them referred to below):
• Fourteen motor vehicle collisions;
• Five traffic complaints along Highway 5; and
• One 911 call.
Slow down – it's winter
Clearwater RCMP would like to remind the travelling general public to slow down and drive according to road conditions.
Police have seen an increased number of collisions over the past couple of weeks.
