Winter hazards
Lately, members of Clearwater RCMP have noticed an abundance of abandoned vehicles on the side of the highway. We would like to remind all residents that should your vehicle stop running, make sure it is completely off of the road. Especially during winter, road visibility can be severely diminished. If the RCMP come across any abandoned vehicle that they feel could be hazardous to other vehicles, it will be towed at the owners expense.
Motor madness
There were a total of 35 motor vehicle collisions in the month of November between Blue River and Little Fort. November and December are typically busy months for collisions due to the constantly changing weather.
Drivers should always keep in mind that everything that melts during the day will surely freeze during the night. If you plan on traveling anywhere this holiday season be sure to check road conditions on www.drivebc.ca for up to date information regarding highway closures and hold ups.
Also, remember that as of Oct. 1 winter tires or “snow and mud” tires are mandatory.

Rural Crime Watch
On Monday, Nov. 28, RCMP received a report of a break-and-enter at a residence on Dunn Lake Road near Little Fort.
The perpetrator entered through a back window and cleaned out the home, leaving with an iPod, TV, DVD player and several other electronic devices.
Luckily, there was video surveillance on the property. This incident is still under investigation.
