Quad crash takes Vavenby man's life

Clearwater RCMP have confirmed that a Vavenby man was killed in a four-wheeler crash last weekend

Clearwater RCMP have confirmed that a local man was killed in a four-wheeler crash last weekend.

According to Sgt. Kevin Podbisky, police received a report of an off road quad accident near KP Road in Vavenby just before noon on Sunday, June 10.

Clearwater RCMP, Clearwater ambulance, Vavenby Fire Department and Blackpool Highway Rescue went to the scene.

At the scene, a 51-year-old male subject was found deceased, pinned underneath his quad in a shallow creek. Investigation revealed that the deceased had left his residence the night before around 7 p.m. to go for a ride on his quad.

When the subject did not return the next morning his brother went looking for him and found him at the location.

Foul play is not suspected and the investigation has been handed over to the Coroners Office in Kamloops.

Name of the deceased has not yet been released.
