Park upgrades in the works

Capital upgrades will be done to six parks in District of Clearwater this year, according to a report to the Parks and Recreation Committee

Capital upgrades will be done to six parks in District of Clearwater this year, according to a report to the Parks and Recreation Committee.

Most of the projects will be completed by June 30, in time for the busy summer season.

Washroom renovations at Capostinsky Park were budgeted to cost $12,500. The work was nearly complete as of mid-May.

Another $9,000 was to be spent on outfield fencing at Capostinsky Park.

Dutch Lake Beach Park was to get $2,500 for five to six loads of sand.

Two concrete picnic tables at Reginald Small Park were to cost $3,000.

Rotary Sports Park concession equipment was budgeted to cost $5,000.

Swing set replacement at Wyndhaven Park was to cost about $2,000.

Also on the budget was $3,500 to revamp flowerbeds near Brookfield Mall as part of the Clearwater Center Plan.
