Clearwater Volunteer Fire Department was called to a fire in a shed located about eight km north of the roundabout on Clearwater Valley Road on Sunday evening, March 11.

The call came in at 9:27 p.m., according to fire chief Mike Smith.

A total of 11 firefighters from Clearwater attended, as well as seven mutual aid firefighters from Blackpool Volunteer Fire Department with their engine and tender.

The structure was a steel workshop approximately 24’x50’.

As that part of town does not have hydrants nearby, firefighters had to use water tenders to shuttle water to the site from a hydrant at Hydro Road.

Crews were on scene until 2 a.m.

At this time the cause is unknown, Smith said.
