Emergency crews responded to a head-on crash on the Clearwater Valley Road Friday afternoon, March 14.
"I can confirm that Blackpool Fire Rescue responded to the scene of a head-on crash near Second Canyon on the Clearwater Valley Road just shortly after 2:00 p.m. on Friday March 14," fire chief for Blackpool Fire Rescue, Mike Savage, told Black Press.
"Crews had to use the jaws of life and cutting tools to free one of the injured occupants. Unfortunately one person was pronounced deceased at the scene," Savage said. "BCEHS transported two patients from the scene. RCMP and the coroners office are investigating."
Drive BC reports the road is closed and the next update will be at 8:00 p.m.
