Longtime Clearwater resident Esther Therres was the winner of a 60-second shopping spree at Clearwater Buy-Low on Friday morning, March 3.
The retired post office worker collected $236.02 worth of groceries during her one-minute sprint. That works out to $14,000 per hour.
The Buy-Low Foods Win Big Giveaway promotion ran at all Buy-Low Foods stores throughout British Columbia and Alberta from Jan. 8 to Feb. 18. Along with the prize of the 60-second shopping spree, there were over $500,000 in other prizes to be won, with one in five tickets winning instantly.
Last year, Gerry Tisdale collected $210.50 worth of groceries during a 50-second spree at Clearwater Buy-Low.
