Workers helping to renovate the former Dutch Lake School (l-r) Gary Merriman, Ron Plamondon, Dwight Ratcliffe and Jason Griffiths check out pages from the April 26, 1970 Seattle Post-Intelligencer.

The pages were found in the building’s crawlspace by Randy Gillsinger. The former school is being converted for use by District of Clearwater and Yellowhead Community Services.

Thanks in part to a JCP (job creation program) grant arranged by YCS, work is proceeding well, says crew boss Plamondon, with some painting starting already.

A silent auction of doors, sinks and other items salvaged during the project will be held at the school on May 8 and 10, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
