The emergency room at the Dr. Helmcken Memorial Hospital will be closed overnight Wednesday.
The ER will be closed from 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 13 to 7 a.m. Thursday, July 14.
This is the fifth closure since July 1, including a closure that spanned two days over the weekend.
The health authority says the closure is “due to unforeseen limited staffing availability.”
Clearwater and area residents are encouraged to call 911 in the event of an emergency and ambulances will be routed straight to Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops during closure hours. Those seeking medical attention can also visit Royal Inland Hospital, or call HealthLink BC at 811 if unsure of their medical care needs.
