Interior Health removed a Do Not Use order on Jan. 25 that had been issued to Vavenby residents after a diesel spill in the North Thompson River.
The spill occurred south of Avola on Jan. 16.
Removal of the order means that water in the community system is considered safe for drinking, cooking and bathing. Water sampling conducted since Jan. 18 found no detectable signs of diesel in the system.
Testing by a Ministry of Environment consultant and by the Thompson-Nicola Regional District will continue at a reduced frequency since diesel deposited on ice and snow remains in the river.
