DeBruijn to step down as SD73 superintendent

The Kamloops-Thompson school district (School District 73) is looking for a new superintendent.

Karl deBruijn announced during the  board of education meeting on Monday, Nov. 23 that he will be retiring effective July 1, 2016.

DeBruijn took the job at the end of July 2014 when his predecessor, Terry Sullivan, retired.

At the time, deBruijn said then he was taking the job for the short term.

 

DeBruin had been an assistant superintendent with School District 73 for 11 years and has worked with the district for 39 years, starting as an elementary-school teacher, later becoming a principal and eventually taking on various administrative roles.
