Clearwater Fire Department and first responders are back with its Cruis’n Treaters and will be handing out candy at several spots in town on Oct.31.

Fire Chief Mike Smith and his team of firefighters along with members from the RCMP and Search and Rescue will be set up from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. for all Cruis’n Treaters.

Here’s where residents can turn up for treats: Clearwater Fire Dept will be at the firehall, Clearwater RCMP and Victim Services will be at the Clearwater detachment at 205 Dutch Kale Road. Wells Gray Search and Rescue at the Dragonfly Splash Park, Blackpool Fire Rescue at the Buy-Low parking lot. District of Clearwater will be at 209 Dutch Lake Road, BC Emergency Health Services at Ambulance Station, 640 Park Drive. You can also catch the Yellowhead Community Services at 209 Dutch Lake Road and the Ministry of Children and Families at MCFD building, 660 Park Drive.

This will be followed by a Halloween fireworks show at the race track off Camp 2 Road at 8 p.m. (gates open at 7 p.m.). Admission will be by donation and the funds raised will go towards next year’s show. There will be free hot cocoa available.

The show will last for 20-30 minutes. “We are looking forward to relight this annual tradition and bring Halloween night to a spectacular close,” said the fire department in a social media post.

The fire department has advised residents attending the fireworks show to dress for weather conditions, bring a flashlight (there are no lights at the track) and to adhere to parking lot attendant’s instructions and to secure pets.

Residents are also advised to stay clear of the air strip (this is the fall out zone). The show will be stopped for safety if anyone is in the fall out zone.
