UPDATED: Out-of-control wildfire burning near Churn Creek

Wildfire around 4.4 hectares in size, burning 67km southwest of 100 Mile House

UPDATE: The wildfire has grown to 8.5 hectares in size and is still burning out of control, according to BCWS. The update came around 7:02 p.m last evening.

A wildfire is burning out of control near Churn Creek. 

Wildfire C42240 was discovered by BC Wildfire Service (BCWS) on Aug. 16 - and is currently listed as out-of-control by BCWS, and is around 4.4 hectares in size. It is currently burning around two and a half kilometres east of Churn Creek and around 67 kilometres southwest of 100 Mile House. 

BCWS says that the suspected cause of the wildfire is lightning and that currently, helicopters, airtankers as well as Initial Attack crews are responding to the wildfire.
