The 100 Mile District General Hospital's emergency department will be closed temporarily.
In a public service announcement, Interior Health (IH), who manages the hospital, says emergency department services will be "unavailable from 7 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 31 to 8 a.m. on Sunday, Sept 1."
IH says the closure is due to limited physician availability, though adding "the emergency department in 100 Mile House is normally open 24/7."
IH also noted patients can access care at the Cariboo Memorial Hospital in Williams Lake, or the Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops. People in the community who require life-threatening emergency care should call 911 - and those unsure if they need to visit an emergency room should call HealthLink BC at 811, or visit www.healthlinkbc.ca.
