The annual Blue River Community Association (BRCA) Harvest Dinner took place on Saturday, Nov. 23 with over 150 guests attending.
Clearwater’s Gateway Grill owner, Kalen Jones, and staff catered the event.
“We love travelling to Blue River to provide a traditional holiday meal of turkey, ham and all the fixings for such a warm-hearted community. We appreciate being called on to cater and serve the area throughout the year. It’s just so much fun. We really appreciate being able to be part of their community dinner. We could all learn from their fabulous community spirit!” said Jones.
Patricia Tyacke is a long time BRCA member who volunteered to coordinate the set up and donations for prizing.
“On behalf of the community association we want to express our sincere thanks to so many for making this evening such a success! The dinner and dessert served by Gateway Grill was delicious. There were so many great door prizes contributed," Tyacke said.
The Thompson Nicola Regional director for Area “B” and resident of Blue River, Lee Onslow said it was such a fun Harvest dinner on Saturday.
"The Blue River Community Association is such a driving force for events in Blue River. Volunteers certainly do make a huge difference in our little communities," Onslow said. "The catering was amazing and what a delicious feast! We really appreciate Kalen and the Gateway Grill staff travelling to Blue River knowing how busy they are in Clearwater. That kind of support means so much.”

“Everyone comes out including all the Mike Wiegele staff," said Gateway Grill’s Kalen Jones. "The staff get a chance to mingle, meet each other as well as the community members that don’t work at Mike Wiegele’s. This event doubles as a great social occasion meet-and-greet for a lot of the seasonal MW staff as most of them are just arriving at this time of year. Such a wonderful event and we are so glad to be part of it.”
