Willow Macdonald of Janie’s General Store in Blue River is challenging incumbent Max Lentz to Thompson-Nicola Regional District director for Thompson Headwaters (Area B - Blue River-Avola).

McDonald is a Blue River businesswoman, wife and mother. She was raised in Vancouver and attended Simon Fraser University, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree. For most of her working life she has been in retail, and managed stores in Vancouver, Banff, and Whistler. Seven years ago, Willow and her husband, Glen, decided to move to Blue River and they have no regrets.  “We like it here,” she is happy to tell newcomers.

Willow is an active volunteer in the community and believes it is time for Blue River and Avola to be represented by someone who lives here.   As co-owner of one of the local stores she knows most of the people in town and is always behind the counter or in the store kitchen, where customers can share their concerns with her.

Willow states, “I want more services for children of all ages and moms.  “Every kid,” she declares, “matters.”  She is committed to seeing Blue River prosper.

With her background in business management, Willow has the organizational and personal skills necessary to get the job done.   She recognizes that there will be challenges and is looking forward to serving her Area.
