Editor, The Times:
I’m a 38 year-old hardworking family man with a family name that reaches beyond 100 years in the North Thompson. I’ve lived my whole life in this valley with 30 of these years spent in Clearwater, a place I have no intentions on leaving.
I have a wife and two beautiful daughter’s ages 5 and 3, and I care deeply about what the future holds for them, and the generations to come. I can’t impress you with an arm’s length of experience or a Harvard degree, but as a graduate from C.S.S with a trade ticket in the welding field, mixed with hard work and dedication, I strongly believe I can help shape this town into the best place it can possibly be to live, work, and play.
For the past seven and a half years I’ve worked for CN Rail here in Clearwater, with the last five of those years spent as the heavy maintenance foreman, where quick thinking, problem solving, and crucial decision making take place on a daily basis.
I was also actively involved as the occupational health and safety rep from Blue River to Kamloops for this same time frame. I didn’t enter this with intentions to reinvent the wheel, but rather to help keep the wheel that past members have shaped, rolling effectively and efficiently in a gradual, uphill direction.
I did, however, enter this partly in hopes of encouraging the younger generations to exercise their right to vote and have their voices heard.
This Oct. 20 vote for the guy you know, vote Lyle Mackenzie and have your voice heard.
