Quesnel's longtime city manager Byron Johnson is resigning his position at the end of September 2024.
Johnson's departure was announced in a news release from the City of Quesnel last week. He will be leaving Quesnel to accept a position with the District of Clearwater.
He has been employed by the City of Quesnel for a total of 18 years. His original role with the city was as director of finance and administration.
“It has been a privilege to serve Quesnel,” said Johnson in the release. “Quesnel has been a great community to live and work in. The city has a really strong team of elected officials, staff, and volunteers. I have really enjoyed my years of service.”
Quesnel's director of corporate and financial services, Kari Bolton, has been working as acting city manager since the end of April. Johnson will resume his duties until his departure in September.
