North Thompson Provincial Park was restricted, while a few trails near the pipeline were closed, over the last couple of weeks. Though access to the park was still possible, able to camp, visit the playground and hike, security was checking ID at the gate.

A statement from the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change noted that the trails have been re-opened and the park entrance no longer has security. No other closures or restrictions are expected. As for the reason for the trail closures and park access restriction, the ministry said in a statement, “BC Parks limited access to certain areas of the park in response to a specific concern.”
