The District of Clearwater has announced a camp fire ban as the mercury is expected to rise into the high 30s and low 40s over the weekend and into next week.

The ban is effective 12:00 p.m. Saturday, June 26 and will be rescinded as the temperatures cool, according to a notice from the DOC. Open burning also is prohibited.

Residents are also reminded to limit watering activity, especially during these hot summer-like days. Each year, from May 15 to Sept. 30, water use is restricted within the district, including what days and time to water, depending on where a resident lives.

More information regarding the water restrictions, visit the DOC website.
